I have run an ophthalmology group in NYC with multiple locations, built a physician managed services organization (medical billing, medical call center, medical marketing), built software as a service companies, and run a IT consulting services firm before.
Time and again, I have learnt that all businesses tend to work similarly – you have to sell something, you have to service what you sold and you have to collect on what you owe.
I have used my own money to start 2 companies, know how to run a lean organization and to build an organization that depends on systems and processes rather than a few key people.
My people, processes and technology insights are based on hands on experience in doubling an ophthalmology practice organically in less than a year, evaluating practice acquisitions for inorganic growth, building out a physician managed services organization for ophthalmology (Medical billing, marketing, medical call center i.e. KPO/RCM), spinning off a medical software division that learns from our physician managed services organization and delivers publicly available software.
Before that I have also started 2 businesses – software and professional services.
